Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor (VEGF) Antibodies play a critical role in wound healing, bone formation, and development

Vascular endothelium, a mesh of fibrillar cells that lines the interior of blood vessels provides the support necessary for elasticity and firmness in the vascular wall. With the exception of malignant tumors, Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor (VEGF) is an integral component of many pathological processes and recent researches are constantly carried out for the creation of new therapies with these factors for various diseases including cardiovascular, rheumatoid, neurological, and cancer. The function of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) antibodies to regulate angiogenesis and the growth of new blood vessels.

In the case of atherosclerosis, where there are an abundance of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) antibodies, the process accelerates after the cessation of arterial wall activity. In the case of hypertension, the vascular endothelial growth factor is essential for the maintenance of blood pressure and hence it is essential in regulating the levels of cholesterol, triglycerides, and blood sugar in the body. In the case of patients suffering from invasive cancers such as lung, prostate, cervical, or ovarian cancer surgery, the vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) antibodies are essential for the proliferation of malignant cells, although in normal conditions the growth factor slows down the growth of cancer cells. Inhaling chemotherapy can result in serious side effects such as nausea, vomiting, hair loss, and mouth sores.

The antiangiogenic effects of vascular endothelial growth factor antibodies also result in the stimulation of the vascular smooth muscle. The smooth muscle acts as a barrier between the circulating arterioles and the interstitial spaces. Therefore, it is expected that the production of new blood vessels and the improvement of blood flow to the skin will be promoted by the administration of vascular endothelial growth factors. However, there are times when the body cannot produce the adequate quantities of the vascular endothelial growth factor needed. Recently, in February 2020, Novartis received the European Commission (EC) approval for Beovu injection for the treatment of wet age-related macular degeneration.
