RF Power semiconductor market is witnessing fastest growth in Asia Pacific region

RF Power semiconductor market

The growing use of long-term evolution (LTE) and deployment of next-generation wireless networks such as 5G are key factors are driving the growth of the RF power semiconductor market. This is attributed to the growing popularity of mobile computing devices such as smartphones and tablets. Moreover, the rise in the adoption of wireless technology such as LTE demanding RF features in tablets, smartphones, and other smart devices are also fostering the growth of the market. According to the India Brand Equity Foundation, India has the world’s highest data usage per smartphone at an average of 9.8GB per month, this will double to 18GB by 2024, fuelled by rich video content. North-East Asia comes second with 7.1GB per month while West Asia and Africa region are the lowest at 3GB per month.
RF Power semiconductor devices are becoming an integral part of all industries as they have great scope to develop new and improved technology. RF (Radio Frequency) is a category of electromagnetic energy, which can be used to transmit data and information. RF Energy transmits information by utilizing frequencies and pulses of radio waves. RF Power has an immense range in both indoor and outdoor applications. RF Energy can transfer information by generating electrical impulses in semiconductor elements using RF technology. The RF Power Semiconductor market is witnessing a tremendous rise owing to RF technologies. RF Power Semiconductor device manufacturers are looking forward to manufacturing and release their products for end-to-end device integration. RF Power Semiconductor manufacturers are focusing more on the development of high-efficiency RF Power devices with RF bandwidths in low power usage. RF integrated circuits and RF integrated diodes are RF Power Semiconductor products with high RF bandwidth capability for indoor and outdoor use
In May 2021, Reno Sub-Systems (Reno), a developer of high-performance radio frequency (RF) matching networks for leading-edge nanoscale semiconductor manufacturing, today introduced its new GenMatch™ Series that integrates the company’s proven solid-state Electronic Variable Capacitor (EVC™) RF match and Precis™ generator technologies into a single unit.
The Asia Pacific is expected to gain significant growth in the RF Power Semiconductor market over the forecast period and this is attributed to the increasing penetration of consumer electronic products in the region. According to the Retailers Association of India (RAI), sales of consumer electronics increased by 2% in September 2020 and 8% in October 2020, as compared with the same months in the last year. Electronics hardware production in the country increased from Rs. 4.43 trillion (US$ 72.38 billion) in FY19 to Rs. 5.47 trillion (US$ 89.38 billion) in FY20. Demand for electronics hardware in India is expected to reach US$ 400 billion by FY24.
